This is another wonderful story of how creative folks can get when the need arises! Our friend, Yigal is a long haul trucker. He is also a great fan of our puppies. This is the fourth puppy he has delivered for us - Yigal travels on Interstate 5 to California and sometimes goes to Arizona. With Yigal, our puppies arrive very well cared for and well loved too. We think it must be quite an adventure for a puppy to ride up tall in the cab of an 18 wheeler!!
Dusty arrived in Carlsbad, California after a two day journey with Yigal. He is now happily settling in with his new family which includes a dog-brother named Digger. They are getting along very well!

TIGGER GOES TO ARIZONA!!!
This adorable little Lhasapoo boy now makes his home in Arizona - and he had an interesting journey on the way to his new family. He rode with Yigal in his 18 wheeler and they made a stop along the way. Yigal pulled into a casino for a break and they had a doggie day care facility on the premises! So, while Yigal rested and refreshed, Tigger got to play and visit and make friends with his own kind! Now that is the way to relax!!
Tigger's new family reports that he has fit in with their household just beautifully - including becoming new best friends with his dog-brother, Pooh Bear. I think the photo says it all..............

DEXTER FLIES TO FAIRBANKS!! Sometimes our little ones find their families in far away places: Dexter is a prime example! He is from Sparky Too (an AKC Maltese daddy dog) and Snickers (a purebred Lhasa Apso mommy). He was the only parti-colored puppy in his litter - both his brother and sister are black with tan and white markings.
His family knew right away he was the right puppy for them! So, we booked him a flight and I took him to the airport on January 23rd. He arrived in Fairbanks safe and sound a few hours later. From the photos his mommy took, it is obvious that he is much loved and has definitely found the right family for him. We look forward to getting photos of this happy little boy for many years to come! Marcia

Bandit Arrives in California to Join His New Family!!
The morning of 11/9/08 began like any ordinary day, but it turned out to be a great day! Our last little Maltese/Lhasa puppy from Mattie and Little Mighty Man had been waiting to find his new family and it just seemed to be taking an extra long time! All of his brothers and sisters had already joined their new families and he was feeling pretty left out!
His new mommy called up from the Mt. Shasta area of Northern California and began asking questions about this adorable little boy - something just told her he was the right puppy for her family. She has had a Lhasa Apso before and had recently lost Barney, a Maltese/Lhasa at age 17. Barney's favorite thing in the world was to go squirrel hunting with Dad. Needless to say, Dad needs a new hunting buddy.........and this little fellow seemed to fill the bill.
Once she decided to go ahead, we needed to figure out how to get him to her. Once again, our friend of a friend, Yigal who is an independent trucker travelling Interstate 5 each week came to the rescue. He was headed for California the same day and delivered Bandit into the arms of his new family on Veteran's Day morning. Isn't it funny how things work out when they are just "meant" to be?
Bandit's new mom and I both think that sometimes you just have to trust your instincts - and when you do, you can end up with the big prize!! In this case, I think Bandit is the winner!!

Aaron (a friend of mine) is holding a little boy Maltese/Lhasa puppy who arrived by 18 wheel truck in San Luis Obispo, California to join his new family. His journey began on Saturday, May 17th and he arrived at his destination the next day. Sometimes we get pretty creative in order to get puppies to their families - this arrangement just seemed to fall into place the right way for everyone!! A huge "THANK YOU" to all those who made this work out!! I can't wait to see the photos from the first meeting!
This was fun to put together!!! The wonderful man who delivered the puppy is willing to do it again, so if anyone along Interstate 5 in California is ready for a puppy, we can make it happen!!!

THE STORY OF "LITTLE GUY"
His parents were searching for a puppy for their family. They only knew they wanted to name him "Little Guy". They found our website and discovered a litter of puppies whose daddy's name is Little Mighty Man. How perfect? They had found their puppy! The problem was getting him from Oregon to the Delaware in the dead of winter! So we worked it all out, after much researching, to fly him on NW Airlines from Portland to Philadelphia on January 2, 2008. We got all our ducks in a row and I left the house at 5:00AM in order to be at the Cargo office by 6:45AM. I was told the minute I walked into the Cargo Office that the temperature in Minneapolis was not expected to be above 7 degrees that day and that we could not fly the puppy if the temperature was below 10 degress anywhere along the route. So I asked if we could route him to Philly some other way; miracle of miracles, they routed him through Detroit, where it was much warmer (17 degrees!) and he would only arrive an hour later than anticipated on his original flight. All is well, I breathed a sigh of relief and notified his family in Delaware of the change in plans.
They went to pick Little Guy up at the airport at the appointed time only to find the Cargo Office closed already and a cargo employee who was uncooperative to say the least!!!! Back to the airport and finally they located someone who went and found Little Guy and brought him out to meet his new family at long last. I was told that this baby promptly collapsed in his new daddy's lap and went to sleep like he had never slept before!!
So now, they are all together and busy becoming the family they were meant to be - and here are the photos that come with the happy ending to the story.

Annabell is a LhasaPoo from Kate and Lambert, born here at Riverbend about 6 months ago. Her family came to the conclusion that she was lonely after they cared for a neighbor's Lhasapoo for a few days. When the other dog went home, Annabell was sad, so they got her a baby brother. One of Cher Bear's Maltese/Lhasa pups has now joined their family and we couldn't be happier that this little fellow has found such a great family for his very own! Annabell looks pretty happy too, doesn't she? Not to mention that the puppy is a birthday gift for dad - he seems to be enjoying both puppies!
